While Herman grew up fed with rye flour, over the time he became a speltivore. It is mostly whole grain spelt flour but sometimes non whole grain. I usually keep him in the fridge and take him out twice a week to be fed with varying amounts of flour and water, waffle-batter consistency. Also I never dispose of any sourdough!
